CAROLINE COMMUNITY

9 MW GRID CONNECTED DISTRIBUTED SOLAR

PROJECT SUMMARY

PACE Canada LP (PACE), is developing a 9 MWac solar project, in partnership with the Village of Caroline through a Community Benefit Agreement. Starting in 2019, PACE has conducted the requisite studies for connection to the Fortis distribution system and to complete the AUC 007 consultation process. Considering the projects location within an Urban Boundary and the related legislation, the project received a confirmation letter from Alberta Environment & Parks (AEP) after a desktop study concluded no environmental impacts. It is expected that all necessary documentation for the AUC to issue a “leave to Construct and Operate” permit will be completed by Q4-2020. The project will connect to the Fortis distribution system and will export electricity onto the Alberta Interconnected Electric System (AIES). The project has received a Municipal development letter of support and will conclude its Public Consultation Process in Q3-2020.
